IRS Redistributes LIHTCs

Each year, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) receives requests for refunds, credits and abatements of low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC). Typically, once all of the requests have been processed, the IRS has additional, unused credits available for distribution to state housing credit agencies. Last week, the IRS issued Revenue Procedure 2011-57, outlining the redistribution of unused LIHTCs.
