Dayton, Ohio Has $40 Million to Spend

Dayton, Ohio is - unfortunately - a perfect example of how Mid West cities have been affected by the economic downturn and housing crisis. A recent study found that foreclosures outnumber private sales in the housing market. More than 20,000 people have moved out of Dayton in the last decade, and the median income has dropped by nine percent. City officials are hoping to address some of these problems with $40 million in HUD funding.
